Private Lessons
Confidence and correctness for all riding abilities
We are pleased to offer a range of side saddle lessons tailored to riders of all experience levels - from complete beginners taking their first step into the art of riding aside, to those with established experience seeking to refine their skills. We focus on correct, balanced riding foundations from the beginning.

Lessons may be conducted either at your own property or agistment or at our Broadford location. Our property features a stunning 60 x 30m post and rail fenced sand arena.
Side saddles are available for hire for lesson use however, you are most welcome to bring your own. Should you choose to supply your own saddle, we may request further information regarding its make and fit, as rider safety is our foremost priority and regrettably, not all side saddles meet modern safety standards.Lesson fees vary depending on location and whether saddle hire is required. Club Rally Days
Turnkey side saddle experiences for your club
Stacey is a registered PCAV Instructor specialising in the art of side saddle riding. With extensive experience teaching thousands of riders, ponies and horses across Victoria and Southern New South Wales, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every lesson.
Side saddle instruction can be seamlessly incorporated into your club’s regular rally day program, with the addition of an engaging introductory theory session. This theory component is typically conducted at the commencement of the rally and covers key topics including the history of side saddle, the parts of the saddle, correct attire and the regulations surrounding where one may and may not be able to ride aside within Australia. This session provides an essential foundation before the commencement of practical instruction.
Following the theory session riders divide into their regular rally groups. Using our extensive collection of side saddles we ensure each horse and rider combination is appropriately fitted. Practical lessons then focus on correct mounting technique, rider position when seated aside and developing confidence and control through all
paces, occasionally even extending to jumping
where suitable.
Lesson pricing is determined based on the number of rally groups participating and the location of your club. To receive a tailored quote and discuss available dates, please contact us with your club’s location and an indication of the number of groups wishing to participate.Please note: due to the popularity of our club side saddle rallies our calendar books out 8 - 12 months in advance. Early enquiries are highly recommended.

Stacey has had the honour of exhibiting at Equitana Melbourne in both 2022 and 2024, serving as an official educator for side saddle riding. Her presentations at these prestigious events showcased the history of side saddle as well as the technical aspects of side saddle riding, highlighting its continued relevance and beauty in the modern equestrian world.

If you’ve ever advertised a horse or piece of saddlery for sale, you’ll know how time consuming the process can be. From gathering accurate measurements and taking quality photos, to writing listings, fielding enquiries and distinguishing genuine buyers from time wasters and photo collectors.
Selling a side saddle can be even more complex. Many listings unfortunately contain incorrect or incomplete information, making it difficult for both buyers and sellers to achieve a successful and safe transaction. At Same Side
